Stephen Doyle, MBA, CPA, CGA

Partner

Stephen and his wife, Jane, moved to Canmore in 2006 from London, England. The two were enticed by the small town and mountain lifestyle. Stephen brings over 30 years of professional accounting experience, having obtained his accounting designation back in 1996. He initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in London and then moved to Deloitte. Stephen became a partner in Lockwood Doyle (now DO&Co) in 2008.

Stephen enjoys life in the mountains, especially skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. He loves to travel and experience different parts of the world. When he’s not exploring in the mountains or hopping on a plane, he enjoys live music and astronomy.

Jonathan Olthuis, BBA, CPA

Partner

Jonathan Olthuis is from Neerlandia, Alberta. He was drawn to the Bow Valley to enjoy everything this town and the mountains have to offer. Jonathan’s work in accounting has taken him all over the world. He’s held positions in Alaska, Australia, and now in the Rocky Mountains. Jonathan joined Lockwood Doyle in the Fall of 2014 and obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2017. On January 1, 2021, Lockwood Doyle Welcomed Jonathan to the partnership group.

Outside of the office, Jonathan can be found hanging out with his wife and kids, watching Canmore’s local Junior “A” hockey team, mountain biking, golfing, or participating in the local church. He also holds a position as the Board Treasurer of the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation.

Dawn Thrale

Accounting Technician

Dawn grew up in Southern Alberta and moved to Canmore in high school. She loves the Bow Valley as it offers her and her family the ability to enjoy the outdoors right at their doorstep. With over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry, Dawn has been an invaluable asset to Lockwood Doyle for over a decade.

Outside of work, Dawn can be found spending time outdoors, walking her dog, hiking, skiing, and spending quality time with her daughter.

Amy Nelson

Accounting Technician

With a background in hospitality and tourism, there is no question why Amy ended up in the Bow Valley. Originally from a small farming community in Central Alberta, she came to work in Canmore over 20 years ago and never looked back. Her accounting knowledge has been an asset to an array of businesses in the Bow Valley’s hospitality and tourism sector. From hotels to heli-skiing, Amy’s done it all.

Outside of work, Amy is a member of the Bow Valley Riding Club where she trains horses and gives riding lessons in her spare time. She and her husband love spending time in the backcountry on horseback riding adventures.
